Long-term storage of sperm/testicular tissue
For the long-term storage of sperm cells, testicular tissue and oocytes, we cooperate with a sperm bank in Krefeld, Germany.
Chemo- or radiotherapy for cancer can result in the temporary or permanent destruction of the sperm-producing germ cells in the testicles. In cases of testicular cancer, it may be necessary to remove the testicles completely. All these therapies therefore affect the patient's fertility.
By cryopreserving sperm cells (freezing and storing deep-frozen cells and tissue in liquid nitrogen at -196° C), male patients have a realistic chance of fathering a child at a later stage. For this purpose, we can freeze your sperm samples in our clinic. They will then be transferred to the Krefeld sperm bank for storage over an extended period.
